Jana with fellow guest Eric on the midnight show, "Jazz Overnights - Soul
Conversations" on WPFW 89.3 FM in Washington, DC. Host Kimberly
Washington asked us to come on her show to feature and discuss five of
our favorite CDs. www.wpfw.org

"Kind of Blue" by Miles Davis. This was the one common album pick by all
four guests!
Jana and fellow guest Clarence smile for the camera while listening to Gil
Scott Heron discuss his music and artistic and political philosophies. We
each asked him a question too. Mine was "Do you consider yourself a
musician, an artist, a poet or an activist first?" He answered: "You can't
be an artist without being an activist too, because art requires that you
express yourself truthfully which is considered a political act."
